CHESTER
CATHEDRAL
The OFFICIAL Chester Cathedral Web Site can be found at www.chestercathedral.org.uk
We hope that you find the content of this web site interesting , informative and will encourage you to visit our beautiful city and take in the marvels of what is one of the country's finest houses of worship.

There are also service times (subject to change) enabling the visitor to not only take in the sights, but to hear the three Cathedral Choirs singing their praise to God.
The Cathedral has recently undergone fundamental changes. The Nave floor has been lifted due to erosion over many years and has given archaeologists a chance to explore part of the foundations of the Abbey previously on the site of the current building. There was also an area to view the work being carried out along with artefacts discovered during the excavation.
Details will also be found on the Chester Mystery plays, re-enacted within the Cathedral grounds.
This web site is being constantly updated, so please watch out for changes. We hope to have at least one new page every week which will build into a comprehensive history of this remarkable building.
We are currently creating a page on the old Chester Cathedral Choir School, which closed down in 1975. If you have any information on this subject that we can use, please go to our feedback page and leave your comments.
